Gluten-free snacking

Keeping in theme with drawing on foods from around the world & finding a delicious array of gluten free goodies, I definitely wanted to make sure to highlight a favorite snack of mine. It’s been so for years, but going off gluten and trying to eat whole unprocessed foods has given it new meaning. Chifles are very thin and crisp green plantains. They are salty and crunchy and hit the spot. Try them with hummus or salsa – or alone. You can certainly make them, or just buy them from Trader Joe’s like I do. My daughter and I also love to add them to (no mayo) tuna salad for a little crunch. TJs is not organic though – I must confess; one of my few non-organic go to foods as I have never been able to find organic plantains.
